Kathmandu, April 16
At least three deaths have been reported from different districts of Nepal due to lightning on Thursday and Friday.
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority says a 60-year-old woman died at Nigure, Shadananda municipality-8 of Bhojpur. Likewise, a nine-year-old girl died at Asine, Chhathar rural municipality-6 of Tehrathum and a 45-year-old woman at Selekhola, Tarakhola rural municipality-2 of Baglung also died.
Two of them were at home whereas one was at her cowshed when the lightning struck them.
Two other girls are injured in Tehrathum whereas one woman in Taplejung and one woman in Baglung, according to the authority. They are undergoing treatment at various health facilities in the respective districts.
