Kathmandu, December 13
Three children have drowned while swimming in Sudap, Chhathar rural municipality-6 of Tehrathum district of eastern Nepal.
The victims have been identified as Ranjana Limbu (7), Rojina Limbu (6), and Suhana Limbu (8). Ranjana and Rojina are sisters.
The rural municipality’s chairman Santa Bir Limbu says the three died on Saturday afternoon.
After the children who had left their houses for playing did not return home by late in the evening, the families had launched an investigation. Later, their bodies were found in the artificial pond set up for irrigation by a local farmers’ group.
The bodies have been sent to the district headquarters in Myanglung for postmortem.
