2 killed in wall collapse in Kathmandu’s outskirts

Kathmandu, June 2

Two persons have died when a wall collapsed and fell on them at Kankali, Purano Naikap in the western outskirts of Kathmandu on Wednesday.

The victims have been identified as Sita Rai, 35, a resident of Beluwa-8 in the Udayapur district, and Tek Bahadur Chepang, 20, from Raksing-9 of the Makawanpur district, informs Inspector Ganesh Chandra Koirala at the Metropolitan Police Sector, Balambu.

The under-construction stone wall was being built to divide different land plots in the area in Chandragiri municipality-13 and Rai and Chepang were working there, it has been learned.

Two other workers, Milan Tamang, 21, and Hari Ghale, 18, have sustained injuries. They are undergoing treatment at Manmohan Memorial Hospital.

Police say further investigation is underway.
