Kathmandu, August 23
Police have arrested 16 people with various types of suspected illegal drugs from different parts of the country during routine patrols.
According to the Central Police Newsroom, the arrests were made in Kathmandu, Morang, Jhapa, Dhanusha, Parsa, Kanchanpur, Nawalparasi West and Banke.
In Kathmandu Metropolitan City-6, Tenzing Chowk, police arrested 37-year-old Binay Kumar Mandal, 38-year-old Manish Shahi and 38-year-old Pradeep Kumar Rai with around one gram of a substance suspected to be brown heroin.
In Morang’s Kanepokhari Rural Municipality-7, 31-year-old Bibek Rai was arrested with 3 grams and 20 milligrams of suspected brown heroin. In Birtamod Municipality-8, Jhapa, 30-year-old Bibek Limbu was arrested with 130 milligrams of the same substance.
Police also arrested a 17-year-old boy with 5 grams and 210 milligrams of suspected brown heroin from Jhapa Rural Municipality-4, Chartagachhi.
In Birtamod Municipality-3, 23-year-old Arjun Rajbanshi was arrested with 1 gram and 380 milligrams of suspected brown heroin. Similarly, 28-year-old Prabhash Baske and 26-year-old Philip Mardi were arrested with 1 gram and 8 milligrams of the substance from Jhapa Rural Municipality-4, Taghandubba Schooltol.
In Dhanusha’s Shahidnagar Municipality-3, police arrested 19-year-old Rajan Yadav and 26-year-old Babul Paswan, also known as Rambalak Paswan, with 22 grams and 580 milligrams of a substance suspected to be brown heroin.
Police arrested 65-year-old Ram Dayal Mahara with around 500 grams of suspected marijuana from Pokhariya Municipality-5, Parsa, and 24-year-old Janak Khadka with 1 gram and 840 milligrams of suspected brown heroin from Bhimdatta Municipality-4, Kanchanpur.
In Nawalparasi West, police arrested 28-year-old Sunil BK and 31-year-old Dipesh BK from Palhinandan Rural Municipality-5 with 100 Spasmo tablets, 21 ampoules of diazepam, 22 ampoules of Phenergan and 22 ampoules of buprenorphine, all of which require a doctor’s prescription for purchase.
In Banke’s Duduwa Rural Municipality-2, police arrested 24-year-old Osis Khan with 900 milligrams of a substance suspected to be brown heroin.
