Dhankuta, September 22
Police in Dhankuta have arrested three people from separate locations with drugs.
Two of them were arrested with drugs during a checkpoint search at Mulghat, Ward No. 9 of Dhankuta Municipality.
A team deployed from the Mulghat police post said that while checking an electric vehicle bearing number Province No. 1-02-001 Ja 4519, travelling from Itahari towards Tehrathum, they recovered a brown, heroin-like substance along with capsules and tablets from a cloth bag kept under the seat.
The seized brown substance, excluding the plastic packaging, weighed 1 gram 230 milligrams. Narayan Ranjitkar, Superintendent of Police in charge of the District Police Office, Dhankuta, said those arrested in the incident were 22-year-old Bhola Rai of Temkemaiyung Rural Municipality Ward No. 1, Bhojpur, and 24-year-old Prabin Rai of Bhojpur Municipality Ward No. 6.
Similarly, police have arrested one person with drugs from Chamcha, Ward No. 7 of Shahidbhumi Rural Municipality, Dhankuta. Acting on a special tip-off, a team deployed from the Akhisalla police post recovered 29 strips of Tramol-50 (290 capsules) and 29 strips of Spasmo Proxyvon (290 tablets) from the house of 21-year-old resident Pragat Rai.
SP Ranjitkar said all three arrested have been brought to the District Police Office, Dhankuta, and further investigation into the matter is underway.
