Kathmandu, August 17
Two people have been arrested with drugs in Dhankuta. According to the District Police Office, Dhankuta, they were arrested along the Koshi Highway at Mulghat, Ward 9 of Dhankuta Municipality.
A police team deployed from the Mulghat police post checked a motorcycle, Province No. 1-02-044 Pa 358, travelling from Dharan, Sunsari, toward Dhankuta, on suspicion.
During the check, police took into custody the motorcycle’s rider, 24-year-old Man Kumar Rai of Balmandir, Ward 5, Dhankuta Municipality, along with 20-year-old Bijay Rai, also from the same area, who was riding as a passenger.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Hemanta Bhandari Chhetri, information officer at the District Police Office, Dhankuta, police recovered from a blue bag carried by Bijay Rai 22 strips (220 capsules) of Tramadol Hydrochloride 50mg, 20 strips (200 tablets) of Dicyclomine Hydrochloride 20mg, and 2 strips (19 capsules) of a medicine called Spasspen.
Police say both individuals, along with the motorcycle, have been brought to the District Police Office, Dhankuta, for further investigation.
