19 people arrested with drugs in Kapilvastu

The District Police Office, Kapilvastu, has arrested 19 people up to September 6.

The individuals were arrested with drugs while attempting to cross the border on foot, some carrying the drugs strapped to their bodies.

From mid-July through September 6 of the current fiscal year 2026/27, police have registered 11 drug-related cases and arrested 19 people.

According to police, those arrested include 13 men and six women, all Nepali citizens. During this period, police recovered marijuana, hashish, heroin, opium, and Nitrovet tablets.

Police recovered 130 grams of marijuana, 5 kilograms 225 grams of hashish, 3 grams 150 milligrams of heroin, and 10 kilograms 364 grams of opium during this period.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Ripendra Kumar Singh of the District Police Office, Kapilvastu, said 10 Nitrovet tablets were also recovered. He said action was being taken against those involved in the drug trade in accordance with the law.
