The Karnali provincial government has decided to tighten security measures in the province in its bid to control the coronavirus outbreak in the province.

Accordingly, it has decided to make it mandatory for people entering the province to have a PCR test report showing they are coronavirus negative. The restriction will come into effect from the coming Monday, informs Ananda Saru, the officiating main secretary of the government.

Personnel will check PCR reports at five entry points of the province–Kalimati, Kalche, and Kapurkot of Salyan, and Babai, and Kuine of Surkhet. Saru clarifies that those with vehicle passes will also require to submit the test report.

Meanwhile, the government also decided to quarantine people coming from India and other districts of Nepal separately. Likewise, all hotels and restaurants in the province will be closed indefinitely from Monda as per the government decision.
