A Yeti Airlines aircraft has skid off the runway while landing at Tribhuvan International Airport on Friday morning. Flights to and from the airport were affected due to the incident for at least five hours
The aircraft ATR-72 was flying from Nepalgunj to Kathmandu.
Spokesperson of the airport Pratap Babu Tiwari confirmed that the aircraft slipped during the landing and informed that all passengers were safely extracted out from the aircraft. The number of passengers, however, hasn’t been made public.
“The aircraft slipped after it landed. All passengers and crew are safe,” said Tiwari.
Tiwari informs that it will take some hours for the airport to resume operation again.
