Wrestling superstar Hulk Hogan passes away at 71

Legendary professional wrestler Hulk Hogan has died at the age of 71 due to a heart attack, WWE has confirmed.

Born Terry Bollea, Hogan began his wrestling career in 1977 and rose to become one of the biggest names in the sport during the 1980s and 1990s. He adopted the name “Hulk” after being compared to the muscular character from the CBS television series The Incredible Hulk.

He joined the World Wrestling Federation (now WWE) in 1979, adopting the full ring name Hulk Hogan. Known for his iconic red-and-yellow attire, entrance theme “Real American,” and a massive fan base known as “Hulkamaniacs,” Hogan became a household name in wrestling entertainment.

Even into his 50s, Hogan remained active in the ring. He also made significant appearances in television and film throughout his career.

WWE expressed its condolences over his passing, stating that Hogan will forever be remembered as one of the greatest figures in wrestling history.
