Kathmandu, October 4

With at least four central working committee members contracting Covid-19, the scheduled CWC meeting of the main opposition Nepali Congress has turned uncertain.

The meeting set for Monday was expected to make a decision about postponing the party’s 14th national general convention scheduled for February citing Covid-19 spread.

However, the meeting would not take place on Monday now with the leaders testing positive for the virus, according to party sources. The party’s spokesperson Bishwa Prakash Sharma says the meeting will take place coming Saturday. *

The party also postponed the meeting of party officials scheduled for Sunday, according to the party spokesperson Bishwa Prakash Sharma.

Meanwhile, the party’s central office has been shut for five days beginning Sunday due to the infection risk, according to the office chief secretary Krishna Prasad Paudel.
