Wild elephant attack in Makawanpur results in 2nd death in a week

Hetauda, February 24

A man died in a wild elephant attack in the Makawanpur district of central Nepal on Thursday night.

Janak Lal Majhi (50), a resident of Pawas, Bakaiya rural municipality-5 of the district, was injured in the attack at around 9 pm yesterday, informs Inspector Balaram Shrestha of the District Police Office. He succumbed to injuries during treatment at Hetauda Hospital at around 11 pm.

This is the second time this week that an elephant attack resulted in a human death in the Makawanpur district. On Monday, 64-year-old Radha Adhikari, a resident of Manahari rural municipality-4, died in a similar incident.
