Westerly wind likely to cause rain, snowfall across Nepal

Kathmandu, January 20

The westerly wind is likely to cause general changes in weather systems across the country for the next three days.

It might also bring light rainfall in some mountainous areas and snowfall in the high hills and Himalayan region.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division at the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Kathmandu has witnessed a fall in mercury with a foggy sky since early this morning.

Light rain also occurred this morning.

The division has urged one and all to adopt the necessary alert as temperatures are likely to drop further with the chances of rainfall and snowfall.

Kathmandu’s maximum temperature was recorded at 5.2 degrees Celsius and the minimum was at 1.8 degrees Celsius as per the latest update of the division.
