Kanchanpur, September 28
Vehicular movement of four-wheelers has resumed on the Banbasa Bridge after the water level in the Mahakali River in Kanchanpur began to recede.
Four-wheeler traffic on the bridge connecting Nepal and India had been halted since Sunday as a precaution after the river’s water level rose due to flooding.
Vehicles resumed operating on the bridge from Monday afternoon as the river’s flow decreased.
According to Tek Rawat, information officer at the District Police Office, Kanchanpur, the flow of the Mahakali River has now reached 98,272 cusecs.
Traffic on the Banbasa Bridge had been affected after the river’s flow increased following continuous rainfall.
Police said vehicular movement on the bridge has now returned to normal as the river’s flow has receded.
