US deports Nepali citizens via chartered flight

Kathmandu, April 12

The United States has deported 35 Nepalese citizens at once.

According to Nara Hari Ghimire, the Chief of Airport Immigration, 35 Nepalis were deported via a chartered flight. Ghimire stated that they arrived at Tribhuvan International Airport on April 7.

Among those deported, 12 had entered the US through illegal routes, while 2 had gone on student visas.

SSP Krishna Pangeni of the Human Trafficking Investigation Bureau noted that the others were deported for various policy violations. Over the past two months, more than 200 Nepalis have been deported from the United States.

Since the start of Donald Trump’s second presidential term, Nepalis have been deported from the U.S. repeatedly.

After Trump took office for his latest term, the US government has been tightening restrictions on immigrants. The US has been taking into custody and repatriating those who have not completed their visa processes, those who have overstayed their visas, and those with poor conduct. Reports have also emerged of the US returning citizens of some countries in handcuffs and shackles.
