Two children have died after falling into a river in Kanchanpur of far-western Nepal on Monday. Another child has been rescued by the locals.
The deceased have been identified as Nishtha Rana (14) and Monika Rana (15) from Kanja, Laljhadi rural municipality-2 of the district, informs Kanchanpur District Police Office. They had drowned in the local Doda river while fishing.
DSP Amar Bahadur Thapa says, “A 12-year-old girl, Anu Rana, however, has been rescued by the locals.”
The mortal remains of both children were found around 300 minutes away from the place they had fallen off.
