Three people died and 27 others sustained injuries in a truck-bus collision in Bara.
The accident took place when a bus (Ba 3-001 Kha 2587) en route to Kathmandu from Kakarbhitta and a truck (Na 7 Kha 7300) from the opposite direction collided near Amlekhgunj on Wednesday morning.
According to Bara Police Spokesperson Dadhiram Neupane, the deceased have been identified as truck driver Purna Gurung, 28, of Tanahun, bus driver and Hari Shumsher Suwal Thapa, 40, of Hetauda, Makawanpur. One of the deceased is yet to be identified, he said. The three breathed their last while undergoing treatment in Hetauda.
Seven critically injured persons were taken to Hetauda and Chitwan Medical College, police said.
Other 20 injured persons are being treated in local hospitals, said Neupane.
