The chairperson of Truth and Reconciliation Commission, Ganesh Datta Bhatta, has assured justice to the victims of the decade-long armed conflict and their families.
During an interaction with them in Dipayal, Doti of Sudurpaschim province on Monday, Bhatta said, “There are many problems, but our team will move forward responsibly.”
Bhatta informed that the commission collected around 65,000 complaints but just around 1,000 were investigated so far. Nevertheless, he claimed, “We have understood the seriousness of the issue, and are working hard accordingly.”
During the event, the victims had urged the commission to look into the cases at the earliest. In response, Bhatta had said, “Yes, it has already been too late. Further delay will increase hopelessness only.”
