Fake refugee papers: Top Bahadur Rayamajhi not arrested yet, his son taken to court

Kathmandu, May 4

Former deputy prime minister Top Bahadur Rayamajhi is yet to be get arrested, according to Kathmandu police.

Amid conflicting reports about his whereabouts, Kathmandu Police Range chief SSP Dan Bahadur Karki says the police have launched a manhunt but he is yet to find him.

On Wednesday, the police received arrest warrants against the CPN-UML secretary Rayamajhi and his son Sandeep Rayamajhi over their alleged involvement in issuing documents identifying Nepali nationals as refugees to help them go abroad easily.

Sandeep was arrested in Butwal last night and taken to the Kathmandu District Court to receive remand this afternoon.

The former deputy prime minister was in his home district of Arghakhanchi on Wednesday afternoon. Then, he came to Butwal in the evening.
