Three persons died when a bus fell off the road in Surkhet district of Karnali province in the wee hours of Wednesday.
The four-wheeler (Na 4 Kha 9317) heading towards Nepalgunj from Jajarkot had fallen off the road from Harredanda, Bheriganga municipality-5, along Ratna Highway at around 3 am today.
The District Police Office says one person died on the spot whereas the two others breathed their last at Kohalpur Medical College in Banke during treatment. Two of the victims are women and the third one is a man. They are yet to be identified.
Other 27 persons have sustained injuries and they are undergoing treatment at Kohalpur Medical College and local health facilities in Bheriganga.
Police are looking into the case and the cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained. However, they have suspected that the vehicle was at a high speed.
