Kathmandu, December 28

The Supreme Court has issued an interim order directing the government not to implement the Ministry of Energy’s decision to fire three members of Nepal Electricity Authority Board of Directors. It has also issued a show-cause notice to the government on the matter.

On December 19, the ministry had removed BoD members Laxman Prasad Agrawal, Manoj Kumar Mishra and Suraj Lamichhane, accusing the trio of obstructing the campaign against load-shedding.

On Tuesday, Lamichhane challenged the decision in the court. A day later, a bench of justice Prakash Man Singh Raut issued the interim order. The ministry has already appointed Bhakta Bahadur Pun, Chet Raj Joshi and Umesh Thani in place of Agrawal, Mishra and Lamichhane.
