Sunsari police arrest two for murder

Police in the Sunsari district of Eastern Nepal arrested two people on the charge of murdering the brother-in-law of the one between them.

According to the SP Kamal Thapa of Sunsari District Police Office, the victim was 37-year-old Kamal Rai of Barah Kshetra municipality-3 in Sunsari and the arrestees were 22-year-old Ganesh Limbu, the brother of the victim’s wife, and his friend 19-year-old Pradip Raj Dhami of Barah Kshetra.

The victim’s body was found on the streets near a plotting area of Ikrahi Jamunakitta on Friday. Police reported that Rai was murdered on Thursday evening.

Further investigations reported that Rai of Damak of Jhapa had been staying at his in-laws’ house at Barah Kshetra municipality-3 for the past few months. Shortly after, Rai and Limbu had a fistfight over a small dispute, which was later solved.

However, at 8 pm that day, the duo took Rai to the plotting area and started beating him. According to police, they had planned the events and were carrying a couple of sticks with to beat Rai.

After repeated blows to his head, Rai breathed his last on the site. Police have confiscated the two sticks found abandoned near Rai’s body.
