Sudurpaschim Royals and Janakpur Bolts are set to clash in the first qualifier of the Nepal Premier League (NPL).
The playoff lineup was finalised after Sudurpaschim defeated Karnali Yaks in the final league match on Monday. Meanwhile, Chitwan Rhinos and Karnali Yaks will face each other in the eliminator.
At the end of the league stage, Sudurpaschim topped the table with 12 points from seven matches, while Janakpur secured the second spot with 10 points from the same number of games. Despite their loss to Sudurpaschim, Karnali advanced to the playoffs, finishing fourth. Chitwan had already secured their playoff spot with 8 points from seven matches.
In Monday’s game, Karnali, batting first after losing the toss, managed to score 101 runs in 20 overs, losing all their wickets. Chasing the target, Sudurpaschim reached 105 runs in 15.2 overs with 4 wickets down.
For Sudurpaschim, captain Dipendra Singh Airee was the top scorer with 38 runs, while Ishan Pandey remained unbeaten with another 38 runs to seal the victory.
