Kathmandu, September 23
All indices on the share market fell on Wednesday. The NEPSE index dropped by 36.25 points (1.36 percent) compared to the previous day, bringing it to 2,618 points.
Trading turnover also declined, falling from Rs 7.04 billion the previous day to Rs 6.35 billion.
The Life Insurance sub-index fell the most, by 2.04 percent.
The Banking sub-index fell 1.22 percent, Development Banks 1.36 percent, Finance 1.09 percent, Hotels and Tourism 0.98 percent, Hydropower 1.66 percent, Investment 1.49 percent, Manufacturing and Processing 0.45 percent, and Microfinance 1.31 percent. Non-Life Insurance fell 1.32 percent, Others 1.65 percent, and Trading 1.26 percent.
Of the companies traded today, share prices rose for 23 companies and fell for 253, while 2 remained unchanged.
Dhaulagiri Laghubitta’s share price rose 15 percent. Similarly, CYC Laghubitta rose 5.44 percent, Bikas Hydropower 3.54 percent, Bottlers Nepal Balaju 3 percent, and Midsolu Hydropower 2.64 percent.
First Microfinance fell 8.54 percent, Mount Everest Power 5.72 percent, Ingwa Hydropower 5.22 percent, and Pure Energy 4.79 percent.
The companies with the highest trading volume today were, in order, Shivam Cement, Reliance Spinning Mills, Himalayan Distillery, Laxmi Sunrise Bank, Aankhukhola Hydropower, and Ghalemdi Hydropower.
