Standard Chartered provides Rs 17.9 mln to Action Aid International-Nepal

Standard Chartered Bank donates Rs 17.9 million to Action Aid International-Nepal, for the Covid-19 response, on Tuesday, July 14, 2020.

In a humanitarian response against the Covid-19 pandemic, Standard Chartered Bank has donated Rs 17.9 million to Action Aid International-Nepal on Tuesday.

The organisation will spend the money for the project ‘Enhanced access to prevention measures through basic livelihood and hygiene product support to vulnerable households of Nepal’, according to a Standard Chartered press release.

With this, the total contribution by the bank to the Covid-19 response in Nepal has reached Rs 35.3 million. It had earlier contributed Rs 11.6 million to the government and Rs 5.8 million to Pasang Lhamu Mountaineering Foundation for relief activities.

The latest project aims to deliver a holistic response program for the marginalised, and vulnerable people in communities most affected by the Covid-19 pandemic including prevention practices to combat the health issues, facilitating access to household Covid-19 prevention kits, PPE distribution and related activities, according to the bank.
