Kathmandu, September 29
SSP Santosh Khadka of the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office has arrived at the office of the National Human Rights Commission in Pulchowk.
The commission had summoned Khadka on Monday to seek information about the arrest of former Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana. Khadka appeared before the commission following its correspondence.
Commission spokesperson Tikaram Pokharel confirmed that SSP Khadka had arrived at the commission’s office.
Police arrested Rana from his residence around midnight on Saturday and released him after keeping him in police custody for 12 hours.
A team from the commission had visited the Crime Investigation Office in Teku to inquire about Rana’s arrest but returned after it was not allowed to meet him.
The commission has sought an explanation from SSP Khadka regarding the incident.
