Kathmandu, June 30
Rice and paddy imports in Nepal have decreased by a large amount in the current fiscal year.
Government data reveals a decrease of around 400 million kilograms in the import of paddy and rice during the fiscal year 2022/23. This has saved the country around Rs 16.1 billion.
Up to mid-June of the current financial year, Nepal has imported paddy and rice Rs 29.19 billion.
Last year, the country imported paddy and rice worth Rs 45.29 billion as 1.08 billion kilograms of rice and paddy had been imported by the country.
