Kathmandu, August 6

A male rhino, estimated to be around 20 years old, was found dead on Wednesday morning at Bhairavpur in Madi Municipality, Chitwan district. The rare wild animal is suspected to have died from an electric shock.

Abhinash Thapa Magar, Information Officer at Chitwan National Park, said the rhino’s body was discovered in a paddy field around 9:30 AM. He confirmed that the rhino’s horn and hooves were intact, ruling out the possibility of poaching.

According to him, an investigation has been launched to determine the exact cause of death and identify those responsible. Park authorities are probing the incident to uncover the reason behind it.
