Kathmandu, August 30
Relatives of those trapped in Upper Trishuli-1 have staged a sit-in at the company office located in Thapathali. The protest was held at the Nepal Water and Energy Development Company (NWEDC) office.
They surrounded the office demanding rescue, saying their relatives still have not been rescued even five days after the flood. They expressed outrage, saying the company’s negligence has prevented their relatives from being rescued.

They drew attention to the fact that rescues have been carried out at other hydropower companies, but not for those trapped at the Upper Trishuli-1 camp.
It has been reported that drilling and efforts to pump oxygen inside are currently underway to rescue those trapped in the project’s tunnel.
