Kathmandu, May 2
The Rastriya Prajatantra Party has decided to field its leader Rajaram Shrestha for Deputy Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City in partnership with the CPN-UML.
The UML has already decided to field Bidya Sundar Shakya for the mayoral position.
The two parties have already agreed to elect UML’s candidates as mayors and RPP’s as deputy mayors in Kathmandu and Lalitpur metropolitan cities.
Earlier, Shrestha’s name was floated as the mayoral candidate from the party. He was elected the KMC Mayor during an election conducted by King Gyanendra Shah-led government.
