An officer of the Public Service Commission, the constitutional body authorised to facilitate recruitment of staff at government agencies, has been founding rigging an exam so as to ensure his daughter gets the job.

Section Officer Mim Bahadur Shahi, posted at Security Agency and Organisation Division Result Preparation Section of the commission, wrote answers of 50 objective questions on his own to make his daughter secure the first position in the exam held to select some assistant fourth-grade staff for the national flag carrier, Nepal Airlines Corporation.

The exam was held on May 25, 2019.

After a team of the commission found that Shahi asked his daughter to choose ‘c’ as the right answer for all 50 questions, which he later corrected as ‘a’, ‘b’, ‘c’, or ‘d’ as required, the commission is preparing to take action against him. Further, the daughter’s result has been cancelled.
