Nepali Congress leader Prakash Man Singh has challenged the main opposition CPN-UML to prove that the government-sponsored Constitution Amendment Bill is seditious. Singh also accused the UML of making a mockery of the parliamentary system by obstructing the Parliament against the amendment proposal.

Singh said this while unveiling the life-size statue of supreme leader Ganesh Man Singh at Jawalakhel, Lalitpur, on Sunday. He claimed that the proposal will further strengthen nationalism. The Constitution Amendment Bill will move ahead no matter what, he said, challenging the UML to block the passage of the Bill through the parliamentary process.

Main political parties should act responsibly and make the Constitution acceptable to all concerned, he said, asking the UML to come to an agreement instead of leading the movement against the Bill. The country will land in a serious crisis if major parties fail to come together, he said, asking the UML to act responsibly.
