President, PM pay last tributes to Minister Adhikari

President Bidya Devi Bhandari and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli among others paid their last tributes to Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Rabindra Adhikari on Friday morning.

Adhikari among seven persons was killed in a helicopter crash in Taplejung district of eastern Nepal on Wednesday afternoon.

The government kept bodies of all the victims at Tundikhel this morning to pay last tributes to them.

Attending the event to condole the deaths were President Bhandari, Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun, Prime Minister Oli, Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara, ministers, lawmakers, leaders of ruling and opposition parties, political party cadres and members of the public.

On the occasion, Prime Minister Oli draped the national flag over the minister’s body as the government has decided to do his last rights with the state honours.

Likewise, Nepal Communist Party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal draped the party flag on the body.

The Adhikari family has planned to take the body to his hometown in Pokhara of Kaski district for cremation. The Gandaki provincial government and leaders and cadres of the NCP are preparing for the funeral in Pokhara.
