President Ram Chandra Paudel has issued an ordinance related to land management.
On Wednesday, President Paudel promulgated the “Ordinance to Amend Certain Nepal Acts Related to Land, 2081,” as recommended by the Council of Ministers.
The government had recommended the issuance of five ordinances, of which four had already been issued earlier. The remaining land-related ordinance was issued by the President on Wednesday.
According to sources at the Prime Minister’s Office, the ordinance proposes amendments to the Land Act 2021, Forest Act 2076, and Land Revenue Act 2076.
The ordinance aims to provide land ownership certificates to landless individuals residing on government and public land across the country. It includes provisions to expedite the process based on recommendations made by the Land Commission, according to sources close to the Prime Minister’s Office.
