President Bhandari meets Oli and Dahal, one after another, as NCP dispute persists

President Bidya Devi Bhandari

Kathmandu, December 4

President Bidya Devi Bhandari met two chairpersons of the ruling Nepal Party, who are at odds over various internal issues in the party, one after another on Thursday, apparently in her bid to put pressure on them for reconciliation.

Although the head of the state is criticised for her interference in the internal affairs of the party, President Bhandari has continued doing so.

She talked with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli for around one and a half hours yesterday, according to sources. The Prime Minister’s Secretariat says it was a regular meeting to discuss day-to-day works of the government, some other sources say they also talked in detail about the dispute in the party.

After a few hours, Dahal also went to Shital Niwas for a meeting. It has been learned that Bhandari urged Dahal to reconcile with Oli, but Dahal blamed the prime minister for growing differences between them, it has been learned.
