Kathmandu, July 14

Nepali Congress leader Prakash Man Singh has said the party must hold its general convention early in order to strengthen the party organisation.

An early general convention of the party was imperative to expand the party as per the constitution, he stressed at a programme organised to welcome new entrants in the party in Kathmandu today.

“It is worrying that party structure has not internalised federalism despite the adoption of federalism,” he said.

Meanwhile, leader Singh stated that lack of coordination among various ministries and stakeholders regarding Guthi Bill, Bill on Human Rights Commission and Media Council Bill gave a sense that the government had no leadership.

He told new entrants of the party to abide by party statute, procedure and regulation. He welcomed them by offering shawls.

Various people including Chairman of Thamel Tourism Development Council, Prakash Narsing Rana, were welcomed in the party.
