Kathmandu, December 5

A Nepal Police constable stationed at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu has been arrested on the charge of letting a passenger import gold illegally via the country’s only international airport.

The suspect has been identified as Rajendra KC posted at the TIA branch of the Narcotics Control Bureau of Nepal Police.

The TIA security office says he has been accused of letting a passenger go out in possession of 50 grams of gold, which is more than the permitted amount.

Further investigation is underway.
