Police put pressure on Dr KC to leave Dadeldura Hospital

Kathmandu, November 4

Police put pressure on Dr Govinda KC to leave Dadeldura Hospital, where he has been staging a fast-unto-death since November 4. The situation in the hospital has got tense after KC’s supporters told the police that he would not shift.

According to KC’s younger brother Kishor KC, police have been pressurising KC to end his strike and leave the area. “Police haven’t told us where they want to take my brother, but they are pushing us to take him elsewhere,” Kishor said.

Meanwhile, KC’s supporters are holding talks with the police requesting them to let KC remain where he is. Kishor added that the situation in the area was hostile due to the argument between police and KC supporters.

Dadeldura Hospital on Sunday stated that it didn’t have the facility to treat KC. The doctors said that KC was losing protein from his urine, which was a symptom of problems in his kidney. The hospital has sent a letter to the District Administration Office and Health Ministry asking for help.

The hospital has asked KC to be taken to a better hospital. Even though KC’s health is getting worse day by day, the government has shown no interest towards meeting his demands.

KC started his 17th hunger strike on November 4.
