Police constable commits suicide in federal parliament building


Kathmandu, June 19

A police personnel has committed suicide by shooting himself on the premises of the federal parliament building in New Baneswor, Kathmandu.

Kathmandu Police Chief Basanta Rajaure said the body of police constable Ajit Gole, who was on duty at the parliament building, was found in the toilet at 8.00 am today. Police constable Gole shot himself in the forehead with his service rifle, he said.

Gole’s mobile phone was also found hanging on the wall of the toilet at the scene. According to an investigation officer assigned to the investigation, the preliminary fact that he shot himself was revealed from the mobile phone found at the scene. “It seems that he committed suicide after his girlfriend stopped caring,” he said.
