Pokhara High Court tells city to allow businesses to operate 24 hours in Lakeside

Pokhara - lakeside

Pokhara, November 8

The Pokhara High Court has issued an interim order to the metropolis, instructing them to permit businesses in Lakeside, Pokhara to operate for 24 hours.

In a decision by the single bench of chief judge Rajan Prasad Bhattarai, following the writ petition of Devi Kumari Baral, it was ordered to keep Lakeside open around the clock.

The Home Administration Reform Action Plan specifies that adequate security measures will be put in place to enable markets in high-tourist areas such as Thamel and Darbarmarg in Kathmandu and Lakeside in Pokhara to remain open around the clock.

Adhering to this plan means that businesses should only halt operations if they are in breach of the law.

The court has demanded a written response from the government on this matter.
