Kathmandu, August 27
A total of Rs 273.3 million was collected in the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund within the first six hours, according to the Ministry of Finance.
The ministry said the largest contribution came from Gorkha Brewery, which donated Rs 100 million. Kumari Bank contributed Rs 30 million, while Ncell donated Rs 10 million.
NIC Asia Bank provided Rs 22.1 million, while NIFRA Bank contributed Rs 25 million.
Similarly, Rastriya Banijya Bank donated Rs 30 million and Nepal Bank contributed Rs 30.1 million.
Saras Beverages (Red Bull) provided Rs 20 million, while Shree Shakti Group donated Rs 5.1 million.
Reliance Sugar Mill and Chemical Industries contributed Rs 1 million.
According to the Ministry of Finance, the amount represents funds handed over to the finance minister for the disaster relief fund.
The contributions come as authorities continue relief, rescue and recovery efforts following the devastating floods in Rasuwa and other affected areas.
