Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ said on Wednesday that the process of amending the new Constitution by reaching an understanding with the main opposition CPN-UML and agitating Madheshi Morcha (United Democratic Madheshi Front) is in the last phase.

Addressing the meeting of the Parliament, Prachanda said a draft of the Constitution Amendment Bill is in its final stage.

Unlike in the past, this time we gave priority to informal talks, Prachanda said.

He said: By Tihar or Chhath, there will be an understanding among the ruling parties, the main opposition and agitating parties.

The government is serious about focusing national attention on elections by amending the Charter, Prachanda said.

Before addressing the Parliament, PM had held talks with KP Sharma Oli, chair of the main opposition, at Speaker Onsari Gharti’s chamber.
