Plastic-free campaign from Rara

A campaign to promote plastic-free Society from the mountain region to the Tarai region is set to kick off from coming Sunday, December 2, in order to stop the use of plastic bags and other plastic-based products.

The campaign would be launched from Rara, which is located at an altitude of 2,972 metres. Rara Lake is around five kilometre long, three kilometre wide and 167 metre deep.

Art Summit Travel and Tours Pvt Ltd is coordinating the campaign.

The campaign will be launched by cleaning around seven kilometre distance from Tallomili to Rara as well as placing 15 dustbins at various places on this stretch. A dustbin will be kept in every 500 metres.

Managing Director of the Art Summit Travel and Tours, Som Bahadur Tamang, says that the campaign is going to be launched from mountainous districts to Tarai as plastic products have an adverse impact on the environment and human health.
