Plane carrying Foreign Minister Prakash Sharan Mahat makes forced landing at TIA

Prakash-Sharan-Mahat

Kathmandu, September 13

The Nepal Airlines plane (RA 206), which originated in New Delhi and was carrying Minister for Foreign Affairs, Prakash Sharan Mahat, suffered landing gear glitches and had to opt for a forced touchdown at Tribhuvan International Airport.

In such cases, pilot and airport officials have access to information about landing gear glitches in advance, according to TIA officials.

Such cases necessitate landing on a surface padded with foams and fire engines and ambulances kept on standby to avert untoward incidents like fire.

The plane is currently at TIA’s runway, according to the airport’s Air Traffic Control, which has diverted flights bound for TIA from abroad.
