The organisers say participants from Nepal, India, China, Germany, France, the US, Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Bangladesh and Itali will attend the Second International Conference on Mountains in the Changing World in Kathmandu on Friday and Saturday.

The theme of the conference is “air pollution: mechanism and consequences” and there will be more than 120 scientific talks grouped into four specialised symposia, parallel sessions and a poster session.

The event will also discuss other mountain issues including disasters, resilience, adaptation, biodiversity conservation, climate change, environmental pollution, forest management, agriculture and agro-ecology and sustainable livelihood among others.

The Kathmandu Institute of Applied Sciences is organising the event in collaboration with Tribhuvan University, Pokhara University and California State University among others.
