Kathmandu, May 30

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is heading to New Delhi of India on Thursday afternoon in order to participate in the swearing in ceremony of reelected Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Modi is scheduled to take the oath of office and secrecy from President Ram Nath Kovind at 7 pm (local time) this evening.

Oli’s secretariat informs that he will take a flight to the Indian capital at 1:35 pm today. Oli will return home on Friday.

In his New Delhi sojourn, Oli will hold a bilateral meeting with his counterpart Modi. Likewise, he will also meet other political leaders of the southern neighbour.

Modi has invited heads of states and governments of his neighbours to the ceremony. He, however, has not invited leaders of Pakistan, Afghanista and the Maldives.

Modi had invited leaders of SAARC nations including Pakistan in the inauguration of his first premiership in 2014. Nepali Prime Minister Sushil Koirala had attended the ceremony.
