NSL states it has not permitted any other league to operate

Nepal Super league NSL

Kathmandu, October 27

The Nepal Super League (NSL) has clarified that it has not given permission to run or form any other league in Nepali football. Refuting recent news reports, the NSL made the claim in a press release on Tuesday (October 27).

The release, issued by NSL managing director Shreyans Karki, asserts that the right to organise the only recognised nationwide, city-based football league in Nepal rests solely with the NSL.

“The NSL has not granted approval or rights in connection with the formation of any other league,” the release says.

The NSL said it remains committed to its long-term vision for Nepali football. It also made clear that it stands firm on its existing rights, responsibilities and commitments for the development of football.

The NSL concluded that Nepali football’s future will be bright only through cooperation, respect and shared commitment that put players and supporters at the centre. Managing director Karki said the league is actively working on how to move forward and will make the details public soon.
