Dhading bandh after newly elected village leader survives attack from opponents

Dhading, May 21

The Nepali Congress has called a general strike in Dhading district on Sunday after its leader Binod Timalsina was attacked, allegedly by an opposition party, on Saturday night.

Seven including Timalsina, the newly elected Jwalamukhi Rural Municipality chairperson, have sustained injuries in the incident allegedly carried out by CPN-UML cadres.

The injured have told that they were attacked while returning from a victory rally.

The NC candidate Timalsina had defeated UML’s Ram Prasad Adhikari by 24 votes to win the top post in the rural municipality.
