NEPSE sees highest turnover in nearly a year

On Monday, the NEPSE index of the stock market increased by 38 points, reaching 2,060 points. In addition to the index surge, the turnover also saw a notable rise. Sunday’s turnover stood at Rs 5.15 billion, escalating to Rs 6.86 billion on Monday, marking the highest turnover in almost a year.

On Monday, NEPSE witnessed positive movements, with 165 companies experiencing an increase in value, 72 observing a decrease, and 5 remaining stable.

While the hydropower sector garnered investor interest until the previous day, Monday saw a shift in focus towards the microfinance group, which recorded the most substantial growth at 5.5 per cent.

The sectoral performance on Monday displayed diverse trends, with the banking sector declining by 0.8 per cent, development banks by 1.8 per cent, finance by 2.5 per cent, hotel and tourism by 3.2 per cent, investment by 3.1 per cent, manufacturing by 2.8 per cent, and other sectors by 1.6 per cent.

On Monday, the share prices of nine companies experienced a notable increase of 10 per cent. The companies that witnessed this surge include Bottlers Nepal Balaju, Suryajyoti Life Insurance, Swarojgar Microfinance, Jeevan Bikas Microfinance, BPW Microfinance, Hathaway Investments, Muktinath Krishi Company, Nerude Microfinance, and Dhaulagiri Microfinance.
