NEPSE index drops to 2060 points

The NEPSE index fell by 11.60 points on Wednesday, bringing the index down to 2060 points. This decline was accompanied by a slight drop in the total transaction amount, which decreased from Rs 4.18 billion the previous day to Rs 4.05 billion.

In the latest trading session, the prices of 57 companies increased, while 186 companies experienced a decline, and 3 remained unchanged. Most sectoral indices saw a downturn. The Banking sector dropped by 7 points, Development Banks by 42, Hotels and Tourism by 15, Life Insurance by 61, Manufacturing by 10, Microfinance by 22, Non-Life Insurance by 36, and the Others group by 9 points. The Trade sector fell by 6 points, and the Finance sector index decreased by 11 points.

Nepal Finance led the gains with a 9.5 per cent increase in value. Other notable gainers included Shivashree Hydropower, which rose by 7.2 per cent, Ganapati Microfinance by 7.1 per cent, Muktinath Agricultural Company by 6.5 per cent, and Swabhiman Microfinance by 5.1 per cent.

On the other hand, Sadhana Microfinance saw a 6.3 per cent decline, Himalaya Energy Development Company fell by 5.2 per cent, Mid-Solu Hydropower dropped by 4.2 per cent, and Samling Power decreased by 4.1 per cent.

In terms of transaction amounts, the top performers were Nepal Finance, Goodwill Finance, NRN Infrastructure, Global IME Microfinance, and Pokhara Finance.
